Privacy Policy
LiftCloset respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
What we collect
When users create an account, place an order, or interact with the platform, we may collect information such as name, email address, payment information, shipping details, and usage data.
Payment information is processed securely through third-party payment providers such as Stripe. LiftCloset does not store full payment card information.
How we use it
We use collected information to:
- Operate and improve the platform
- Process transactions
- Provide customer support
- Prevent fraud and abuse
- Communicate important account or order updates
Information you give us in a dispute
When a buyer opens a dispute on a delivered order, we collect the reason they select, the description they write, any photos they attach, and any notes or photos they add while the dispute is under review. We hold this alongside the order, delivery, and tracking information we already have for that order.
Dispute photos often show more than the item — a room, a doorway, or a package with an address on it. Please only include what is needed to explain the problem.
We use dispute information to review and decide the dispute, to issue a refund, to arrange a return where one is required, and to detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
Who sees what:
- Our review team sees the whole dispute, including the description and every photo attached to it.
- The seller is told that a dispute was opened, the reason selected, and the outcome. The buyer's written description and photos are not shared with the seller.
- Our internal notes on a decision, and which of our team made it, are never shown to the buyer or the seller.
- Where a return is required, the buyer's and the seller's names and addresses are shared with our shipping partner so that a return label can be created.
- Refunds are processed by our payment provider, which receives the information it needs to reverse the original payment.
How long we keep dispute information
Photos attached to a dispute are stored with our file storage provider in the same way as listing photos. Each file is given its own web address, which we do not publish or index, but which is not restricted by sign-in — anyone who has the address can open the file.
We keep a dispute and its photos as part of our record of the transaction, including where the buyer cancels the dispute. Closing or deleting a LiftCloset account does not remove disputes already filed from that account.
If you have a question about dispute information we hold about you, contact us at [email protected].
